Description: Time to make some noise! Drummers from Edinburgh based youth samba band Pulse of the Place will lead the workshop, showing the rolls and patterns they’ve been practising during the year, before letting you get your hands on the sticks! Drawing from some basic hip hop and samba rhythms, the group will pull together for a short performance at the end of the workshop – a great chance to feel the beat and move your feet!!
Pulse of the Place is a vibrant youth-led samba drumming band, based in Edinburgh. The band is supported by A.R.Ts Afternoon and is led by Sarah Seilman (one of the youngest samba leaders in Scotland). The band’s profile and reputations has grown through playing at events such as The Leith Festival, Liverpool Samba Carnival, Edinburgh Festivals Cavalcade, Mela Festival and at the Olympic Park during the Paralympics in 2012.
